Found while cleaning up, it was an addednum to a mathematics notebook I was compiling at that time.
Note that the first experiments were done using volumetric measure.
As in cooking, a capital T stands for Tablespoon, a lowercase t stands for teaspoon.
That
weekend I went to Mom's house where my reloading stuff was stored, and
brought back my reloading scale so I could measure by weight.
Like most reloading scales, it measures in
grains so the "g" at the end of each measurement stands for grains,
NOT grams.
The term grain is taken from the weight of one kernel of spring wheat.
There are 7000 grains in 1 pound.
1 gram = 15.43 grains
Only KNO3, sugar and water were used in the first few tests.
KNO3 is sometimes abbreviated "K"
Sucrose is sometimes abbreviated "S" (not to be confused with sulfur, which I was not using at that time.)
On 3/16/80 I tried adding some Karo syrup, remembering a candy recipe I'd been making (aptly named "Diet Killer")
The result was a "putty" which stayed soft at lower temperature and was thus easier to work.
When cooled, the propellant became very hard, and was much more cohesive.
Thus Rcandy came to be.
